Iloilo: The City of Love

I am a native of Iloilo, but during my 17 years of existence in my hometown-- I have never once appreciated my city. I am aware of the common things you hear about Iloilo: it's called the City of Love, it was once the Queen City of the South, it is home to numerous Spanish mansions and churches and of course, the delicious food unique to us.

Other than those main facts (which is still a limited scope), I'm not that well versed with what Iloilo has to offer. But the months of being away from home has made me realise how much I've been missing all these years, and I've learned to appreciate the rich culture of Iloilo as well as embrace my Ilonggo heritage.

NARUTO The Last Tribute: What If Edits

We all know that Naruto has ended last November 10 at Chapter 700 and the last Naruto movie will be premiering on December 6. It's been 15 years of shinobi action and adventure with the series' protagonist, Naruto Uzumaki… and he has herded a lot of fans ever since.

I was quite the fan of this anime back in high school, I'm still a fan until now but not like the ultimate Narutard I was then. The series has now come full circle-- but there are still things that leave the fans wondering about, and hopefully all of that is answered in the last film (or the mini series).

Per:spective

Deal with it tho

Per:spective is an adventure story based on a dream I had one time. I just altered some parts  in order to fill in some plot holes and to give more depth on the characters, their world and their magical powers and stuff. I really don't have the time to illustrate this in a comic form, YET. And this is like a "rough draft" of the whole thing, it still needs a lot of tweaks and would probably get revisions in the near future. This blogpost would be my reminder of the original ideas.

Panay Island Aswang Stories

The Aswang is a vampire-like mythical creature in Philippine folklore and is arguably the most popular mythical creature in the country. It has been a subject of a wide variety of myths & stories across the Philippine Islands, popular especially in the Visayas, notably in Panay Island.
They can take the form of an animal, such as a wild black boar or a feral dog and feeds on human flesh. The powers of an aswang is said to be inherited, and an old aswang can only die after passing on the "curse" in the form of a stone of some kind.

My hometown is Iloilo City, which is at the Southern part of Panay Island and growing up there as a child, it is quite common to hear aswang stories. The popular stories being passed around are those of Teniente Gimo & Maria Labo.

Anime Clichés

When you watch a lot of anime, you'll notice that some of them are essentially the same to the core. Different genres of anime typically have that certain formula, with only a minor changes in some aspects (like the hair colour of the protagonist etc). Either mangakas are losing their originality or you're just a hardcore anime addict & it's probably about time you got a life.

How to CRY in 6 Pictures

If you didn't feel frustrated with the ending of Five Centimeters Per Second, then you must be really jaded and realistic with love.

These Kinds of People should GTFO the Sidewalk

Walking is like a daily thing in our lives. The distance may range from a few kilometres like from home to school or a few steps like our bedroom to the Fridge. Walking would be troublesome with all the Cars, Bikes, Motorcycles & the like on the road so thank God for sidewalks. Aaaaaand on the sidewalk you'll meet these certain annoying types of people. Yes, I understand the fact that people walk in their own pace-- but if you're living in the fast lane like the Big City, there's really no time to slow down when majority of the people are on the rush, plus the narrow sidewalks. The annoying-ness of these people increases depending on how much in a hurry you are.

Why High School Secretly Sucks

This article is full of cuss words. Read at your own discretion.

You may disagree with me on this, but seriously, just think about it… our High School years roughly fall on our awkward teen years. Our adolescent stage, is that delicate fine line between our bratty selves & young adulthood. That is the stage where we more or less learn to be independent, as well as trying on some new shit our parents forbid us to do. We discover what we want in life, we establish who we really are, we find the kind of people we wanna hang out with as well as hooking up with the opposite sex. In other words, this is our Identity-seeking stage. And yes, while most of these adventures are a joyous experience, there's really that point where you fuck up so bad.

Just because I'm "rich"...

I've had a few experiences where I heard the "Mayaman ka nman" [You're rich anyway] phrase… used in a very wrong way.

Moving On~and On~ and On~ and OOOON~

*Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. LOL

Young love is tough love.

At some point of your teen life, you've probably felt that "strange feeling" while eyeing that cute guy playing on the BBall court or that sexy chick sitting at the corner of a coffee shop (This is ofc, regardless of your sexual orientation)… and then suddenly, you would just think how great it would be if you & your crush were <3

But you see, the problem about young love is that it hardly lasts long because of [REASONS] unless you & your partner are REALLY sincere with each other 120%. Which is, hahaHIGHLY unlikely.

The bad thing about having a relationship with someone is that you either marry them or you break up. While marriage sounds like a magical endgame, it's not. But that's another story.
